There are wonderful times when I am graced with a perfect moment.  I am filled with joy, satisfaction and contentment.  My heart and mind are open wide.

When I have these moments and am in this state, even my challenges seem perfect.  To often though, I am overwhelmed by too many demands, frustration, pressure and stress.  It seems the pleasures of full presence elude me.

How do I dive deeper into life and find ways to have more of these moments of bliss and contentment?  I think it starts with awareness and then practice.  A practice of noticing, honoring and celebrating each moment.  A practice of creating these moments of contentment by taking time to turn inward.  A practice of noticing and enjoying the small things.   Earlier today I was watching Eckhart Tolle's speaking meditation video.  At first I wanted him to hurry up, because of course I have things to do.  But, as I made myself slow down and listen, I found what I loved the most was the silence between his words.

When I was going through my Reiki training, I was encouraged to be mindful of the following basic prinicples and go over them in the morning and evening -- simplified they are -- just for today I will not worry; just for today I will not anger; just for today I will be diligent in what I do; just for today I will be kind to others; just for today I will be grateful.   As I try to live these principles in conjunction with the now, it is easier for me to break it down to just for this moment ...

And so just for this moment I am going to be.

Namaste
